Andy is a venture capital and private equity investor specializing in communications and information technology related investments. For 15 years he managed bi-coastal operation (Boston, Palo Alto) which grew to 27 professionals in technology; life sciences and Cleantech. Total funds under direct management by my team totaled $725M. He was also a member of the first Advent Executive.

Andy has been responsible for funding 46 companies during his career and has produced outstanding returns during that period. Representative investments include: Cascade, Kalpana, Videoserver, P-Com, WNP Communications (communications); RedPrairie, Versant, RedBrick, Interlink, Precise (software); Virata (hardware); Lightbridge (services). Deals are across multiple post-seed stages ranging from development to revenues as high as $75 million at time of investment.

Prior to entering venture capital Andy was CTO-equivalent at Fidelity Investments, CEO and general manager of two information services companies, and held positions in MIS, sales, operations, and development at two smaller companies. One, Epsilon Data, became public.

He received his SB and SM from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has MBA from Harvard. Graduated with honors: Tau Beta Pi (Engineering), Eta Kappa Nu (EE), and Sigma Xi (Sciences).
