Client & Business Development: Senior Director, Business Development GROUP: Service Provider Markets
Requirements:
- Mature and experienced with a majority of your experience selling into the service provider industry.
- Ability to structure complex deal arrangements. Since Service Provider deals tend to be creative and non-standard, candidate must be able to think creatively and strategically about how to drive the most revenue and profit from customers, while at the same time meeting their needs.
- Ability to paper and negotiate complex deal structures. In the face of intransigent purchasing departments, candidate's ability to be clever and drive a process is critical. This person needs to understand critical trade-offs and how to find value in deals where it isn't obvious.
Also, candidate needs to be able to manage and renegotiate existing deals as required.
- Financial modeling. Candidate must be able to understand a client's ROI analyses and contribute to its creation. This person must have productive conversations with Directors/VPs of Finance and show them how/why our solution provides value.
- Product definition capabilities. Candidate needs to be able to both identify product shortcomings and bring them to resolution by working with an internal product group.
- Internal communications. Candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively across groups within Tellme (Customer Solutions, Marketing, and Engineering...) to coordinate preparation for meetings, creation of necessary demos, powerpoint presentations, getting approvals, etc.
- Technology acumen. Candidate must be able to at least handle mid-level meetings with clients both on the business and technical side. This person must be able to understand the basics of telecom networks and the telecom industry, the speech industry and our solution set.
- Strategic thinking. Candidate will need to help drive the overall Service Provider strategy to ensure the team is pursuing the right opportunities at the right accounts. This person must help the team understand the competitive landscape in which it is operating. This person will also need to help drive the Service Provider Team's product strategy so as not to get caught flatfooted upon pursuing opportunities.
