John LaMacchia John’s remarkable history in telecommunications has helped Tellme grow into a leading Internet-powered telecommunications company. In September 2001 John was enticed out of a brief retirement by Tellme’s vision for changing the phone. Formerly, John was the CEO of Cincinnati Bell. During John’s 16-year tenure at Cincinnati Bell revenues grew to more than $2 billion. John established Cincinnati Bell as one of the most innovative local telecommunications companies, consistently receiving the highest national customer satisfaction rankings. In addition, John built and grew two subsidiary companies, Cincinnati Bell Information Systems and Matrixx Marketing, which were spun-off in 1998 to form Convergys, the leading outsourced communications billing and customer care company, with more than $1.5 billion in annual sales. John spent 17 years at AT&T. As director of strategic planning he worked to remove regulatory barriers and advised the office of the chairman on strategy related to the Justice Department’s mandated breakup. His career began at Bell Laboratories in 1966. John serves on the boards of Kroger, Burlington Resources and eLynx. He received his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University, his Ph.D. in physics and bachelor’s of electrical engineering from the Catholic University of America and holds three patents in the fields of optical memories and acoustic-optic interactions. John and his wife Betsy live in the Bay Area and Cincinnati and have five adult children. |

Mike McCue Mike laid the foundation and vision for Tellme’s business in February 1999 when he co-founded the company. He is responsible for overall company operations. From 1996 to 1999 Mike was vice president of technology at Netscape. There he helped to establish the company’s client, portal and server lines of business. Mike founded Paper Software, Inc. in 1989 and served as CEO. He led the company to an overwhelming leadership position in 3D software, winning nearly 80% market share from Microsoft and SGI. Mike oversaw Netscape’s acquisition of Paper in February 1996. In 1986 Mike began his formal career at IBM, giving up a congressional nomination to attend the US Air Force Academy. In his early teens Mike began his initial entrepreneurial venture, writing and selling video games from his parents' home. Mike is from Woodstock, New York. |

Bob Komin Bob joined Tellme as chief financial officer in July 2001. He is responsible for overall financial leadership and the creation of strategic and operational plans that enhance execution and build long-term shareholder value. Bob manages the control, finance and planning, treasury, investor relations, facilities and human resource functions. Bob joined Tellme from XOR, Inc., where he was CFO. From 1995 to 1999 he held corporate financial management positions at Cincinnati Bell and Convergys, ultimately serving as vice president of finance and treasurer at Convergys. During his tenure Bob was responsible for corporate planning and reporting, mergers and acquisitions and oversaw $2.25 billion raised in the public capital markets, including the company’s IPO. Previously, he worked in executive roles at Rogue Wave Software and Mentor Graphics. Bob began his career as a certified public accountant at KPMG. He received his bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Oregon and his MBA from Harvard. Bob, his wife and two sons live in the Bay Area. |

John Giannandrea John is the chief technology officer at Tellme and a member of the founding team. He is responsible for the technical direction of Tellme’s pioneering Voice Application Network, which combines the benefits of Web technology and standards with the reach and reliability of the telephone network. John oversees Tellme’s leadership contribution to next generation standards and protocols. Formerly the chief technologist of the Web browser group at Netscape/AOL, John contributed to the development of many Web technologies and standards, including HTTP, SSL, HTML and Java. Prior to Netscape, John worked on a number of innovative platforms including Telescript and MagicCap at General Magic, the IRIX operating system at Silicon Graphics and the Transputer microprocessor at INMOS. John is a native of Scotland and a graduate of Strathclyde University, Glasgow. |

Angus Davis Angus co-founded Tellme with Mike McCue in February 1999. He works across the company to develop business and technology strategies to guide the future direction of Tellme’s products, with a current focus on service provider markets. Prior, Angus facilitated Tellme’s entry into the travel and transportation markets, managed Tellme’s product line transition to serve Fortune 500 clients and led production of the 1-800-555-TELL consumer voice portal. Angus joined Netscape Communications in 1996, bypassing college after an initial summer internship to become the company’s youngest fulltime employee. While at Netscape, Angus was a product manager for the Netscape Communicator Web browser. He was responsible for fostering developer relations, prototyping next generation browser technology, representing the company on standards committees, contributing to company strategy on legal matters and working on the AOL/Netscape merger. His first telecommunications endeavor began mischievously at Phillips Academy Andover, where he hacked into a campus phone system so fellow students could make free long-distance calls. A native of Bristol, Rhode Island, Angus lives in San Francisco. |

Ben Lyon Ben joined Tellme as general counsel in April 2002 and is responsible for all legal matters at the company. Before joining Tellme, Ben served as interim general counsel for Schlumberger-CellNet after serving as vice president and general counsel for its predecessor, CellNet Data Systems. Ben was a member of the founding team of Pacific Bell Wireless (now Cingular Wireless) and before that served in several senior legal roles at Pacific Bell (now SBC Communications). Since 1990 Ben has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco Law School, where he lectures on international business transactions. Ben received his bachelor's of art from the University of California, Davis and received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. He resides in San Francisco. |

Charles Moldow Charles joined Tellme as senior vice president of client development in January 2000. Charles and his team collaborate with the country's largest corporations to change the way they use the phone to interact with customers. Charles was a founder of Internet access provider @Home Network. His work at @Home culminated in the seven billion dollar acquisition of the Excite Internet portal. Prior to @Home, Charles was an executive at TCI Cable and spent four years at Merrill Lynch in the mergers and acquisitions practice. Charles received his bachelor’s of science degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Harvard University. Charles lives in the Bay Area with his wife and three children. |

Troy Chevalier Troy is the vice president of network engineering at Tellme. He joined the company in April 2000 and oversees the teams responsible for engineering, building and managing operations of Tellme’s Voice Application Network. Troy spent over five years at Netscape/AOL and was responsible for several industry-defining efforts. He headed the launch of the Windows browser and was the founding principal developer for the next-generation Gecko layout engine, a significant contribution to the open source developer community. Prior, he held various technical management positions at GO Corporation and Borland International. During his tenure at GO, Troy gained valuable experience as the principal engineer for telephony-related software on the EO Personal Communicator. His career began at Data General in 1984. Troy received his Bachelor’s of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, Troy and his wife live in the Bay Area. |

Matt Marx Matt is vice president of client success at Tellme. He joined the company in September 1999 and is responsible for the successful assessment, implementation and refinement of every client application. Together, Matt’s eclectic team of user interface designers, system architects, audio producers, project managers, speech scientists, quality assurance testers and client relations directors, create breakthrough solutions in directory assistance, customer care and communications applications. As one of the earliest employees at SpeechWorks (now ScanSoft), Matt oversaw the customer solutions team, designing and deploying the industry’s very first voice applications for corporations including United Airlines and BellSouth. Matt received his bachelor’s of science degree from Stanford University, his master’s degree from the MIT Media Lab and first-year honors from Harvard Business School before leaving to join Tellme. He holds two patents in speech recognition and voice application development methodology. Matt and his family live in Mountain View, California. |

David Weiden David joined Tellme in August 2000 as vice president of marketing. He is responsible for product management, corporate strategy and communications at the company. Before joining Tellme, David was vice president and general manager of AOL’s industry-defining community, communications and instant messaging products, used by more than 50 million people. David started working in the telecommunications industry at McCaw Cellular Communications, now AT&T Wireless. He later joined Morgan Stanley as an investment banker in the telecommunications practice, and subsequently held various executive positions at Netscape Communications. David graduated from Harvard University with highest honors in organizational behavior and economics. He and his wife live in the Bay Area. |
