Yerba Buena Gardens is located at Mission Street between 3rd and 4th Street in San Francisco's SOMA District.

Do I need a ticket or reservations?
Admission to all public events of the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is free and no reservations are needed. 

When are concerts held?
Our regular season runs from May through October.  Most events and presentations occur at lunchtime or on the weekends.  (Please see our Calendar Listing or Events, Festivals Listings in this Website.)

How do I get there?
We encourage the use of Public Transportation:
Yerba Buena Gardens is a short walk from the BART/MUNI Powell and Montgomery Street stations. Convenient MUNI bus lines include the 14 Mission, 15 Third, 30 Stockton, 45 Union and all Market Street routes. The CalTrain Station at Fourth and Townsend is served directly by MUNI's 30 Stockton, with stops on Third Street at Howard and at Mission. Yerba Buena Gardens is also convenient to Golden Gate Transit, SamTrans and AC Transit downtown bus routes.

Getting to Yerba Buena Gardens by Car:
From the East Bay: Take Interstate 80 and exit at Fremont Street. Take an immediate left from Fremont onto Howard Street and get into the right lane. Go two blocks and turn right on Third Street - the Gardens will be on your left immediately across Third Street from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

From the Peninsula: Take Highway 101 until it connects to Interstate 80 and exit at Fourth Street; Fourth immediately leads onto Bryant Street. Take a left from Bryant onto Third Street - the Gardens will be on your left between Howard and Mission Streets and immediately across Third Street from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

From the North Bay: Take Highway 101 to Lombard Street. Follow Lombard to Van Ness Avenue and turn right; follow Van Ness until you reach Golden Gate Avenue and turn left. Follow Golden Gate as it crosses Market Street onto Sixth Street. Turn left from Sixth Street onto Folsom Street and follow Folsom up to Third Street; turn left onto Third - the Gardens will be on your left between Howard and Mission Streets and immediately across Third Street from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Is there parking?
There are a number of parking garages in the area; however, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.  The closest and largest garage is the 5th and Mission Garage.  (Parking availability in this busy downtown area can vary widely due to conventions, Metreon, etc.)

What seating is available?
Most events are designed for comfortable “picnic style” lawn seating.  We do have very limited chair seating, but those are used primarily for seniors and individuals who have a physical need for a chair.  You may bring your own seating, but please be considerate and bring low folding chairs.

What services are provided for seniors and disabled patrons?
Bench seating and limited chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each senior or disabled patron may be accompanied by one other person. All unoccupied seats become available for general seating. Wheelchairs are accommodated. Please see an usher.

Are food and drink available? Can I bring my own?
Picnics are welcome and encouraged, but cooking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.  Yerba Buena Gardens has an abundance of food service providers ranging from traditional fast food, to high-end dining. Visit our Links page for a list of local restauants.

Is alcohol permitted?
No.

Is smoking allowed?
Currently, yes, but please be a considerate smoker and put your cigarette butts in the ash trays located around the Gardens.

Are there restrooms, public phones, first aid, ATM’s and water?
Yes.  Please see site map or ask Gardens personnel for directions.  For First Aid, contact the on-site security company - KTB Management Group - at (415) 247-6500.

Are pets allowed?
No.  Service Animals excepted.

Where is the lost and found?
Lost and Found is located at the Yerba Buena Gardens Management office located on Terrace Level next to the Starbucks.  Come by or call (415) 247-6500.

What else do I need to know?
Recording/photography of performers is strictly prohibited.
Unauthorized sales, solicitation, and distribution are prohibited.
Blankets and tarps will be limited in size to 8' x 8'. Unoccupied blankets will be subject to removal and can be collected at lost and found.
Backstage areas are restricted to authorized personnel.
Management reserves the right to revoke admission.
Dress comfortably and remember to be prepared for sun or fog - San Francisco is a place where one may experience all 4 seasons in a single day!
Please be aware of personal items. The Festival or Yerba Buena Gardens cannot assume responsibility for lost or stolen items.

The Festival accepts unsolicited materials from artists.

Materials will be returned only if accompanied by a postage paid self-addressed envelope.

Due to the high volume of materials the Festival receives, we cannot guarantee someone will respond personally to your submission. However, the Festival does review all materials received.

How do I rent the Esplanade or other spaces at Yerba Buena Gardens?
Yerba Buena Gardens is available for corporate or organizational rentals.  The Gardens are not available for wedding ceremonies or receptions.  To rent space at Yerba Buena Gardens, please call us at (415) 543-1718. To learn more, visit the Rentals page.

If you would like to have hold an outdoor wedding, we recommend that you call the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Permits and Reservations Office, (415) 831-5500.

Picnics without tables and/or other set-up are allowed in the Gardens.  Please call Gardens Management if your group will include 50 or more people.
